“After reaching an agreement with the Chinese competent authority and considering all the petitions filed by stakeholders, foreign trade operators and industry, Rosselkhoznadzor resumed imports of feedstuffs including choline to Russia, by a Chinese company Hebei Kangdali Pharmaceutical Co, Ltd on December 3, 2021,” according to the regulator’s report.
Choline is widely used in the Russian livestock industry, said the spokesperson of the regulator. The main role of this vitamin-like substance in the body is to regulate fat metabolism, form phospholipids in the liver and prevent fatty infiltration of liver. Particularly, dietary choline availability is important for growth performance of piglets and chicks during the first months of life.
Rosselkhoznadzor stressed that the feedstuffs to be imported to Russia by the mentioned supplier should be produced starting December 3, 2021.
It must be noted that earlier this year the Russian market participants expressed concerns over feed additives import restrictions.
