VIC Group Executive Discusses New Medications for Cats and Dogs

Four new animal health products were released onto the Russian market in April. Their formulas are identical to those of foreign origin, which are currently unavailable in our country. The new line of medications for cats and dogs was developed by VIC Group, which holds 21st place among global animal health product manufacturers.

Sergey Kasparyants, the executive director of VIC Group, visited the “Pets” project studio. According to him, the development of new medications for small pets took more than three years.

Among these are heart medications, anthelmintics, antiemetics, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for cats and dogs.

One of the newly developed drugs is intended for treating heart failure in dogs. Another generic is an antiemetic drug for cats and dogs. It blocks the development of vomiting caused by multiple reasons, including motion sickness during transportation.

The new line will consist of 14 products with different dosage forms, as specified by Sergey Kasparyants.

He also noted that the Group is both expanding its product portfolio and simultaneously is involved in modernization and increasing its capacities. The Group’s total investments will reach 10 billion rubles from 2020 to 2026. Of them, 8 billion are aimed at the development of innovative production sites, which will ensure independence from imports for the local animal health industry.

Investments have already allowed VIC Group to double its production capacity.

Sergey Kasparyants also spoke about a line of injectable suspensions for small pets and farm animals intended for the treatment of bacterial infections.
