The decision comes after Rosselkhoznadzor has reached an agreement with the Chinese competent authority and considered all the petitions filed by stakeholders, foreign trade operators and industry.
Choline is widely used in the Russian livestock industry, the Rosselkhoznadzor experts said.
“The main role of this vitamin-like substance in the body is to regulate fat metabolism, form phospholipids in the liver and prevent fatty infiltration of liver. Particularly, dietary choline availability is important for growth performance of piglets and chicks during the first months of life,” reported Rosselkhoznadzor.
Earlier this year, the regulator resumed imports of choline from another Chinese supplier and allowed imports of lysine-containing amino acids produced by a large Indonesian company to the Russian market.
