The farm is intended as a nursery for weaned pigs.
“Young animals will be supplied to Mongolia by the East-Siberian pig farm Sibargo. Due to our physical proximity to the border with this country, we will be able to provide for fast and safe transportation of animals,” said Yulia Shishkina, director of the East Siberian pig farm, as quoted by the company’s press service.
The company expects this production site to become a starting point for entering the Chinese and Southeast Asian markets. According to Alexei Tsydenov, the head of Buryatia, the project will help both create additional jobs for local residents and cover the region’s demand for pork.
