Almost 517,000 tons of Russian meat and meat products were supplied to overseas markets over the first 9 months of the current year, against 442,700 tons shipped in the same period of 2021.
The biggest growth in exports was recorded for mutton and goat meat, which have increased ten-fold. Thus, 91 tons of mutton and goat meat were shipped over the first 9 months of 2021, and 912 tons over the same period of 2022.
Beef, pork and poultry supplies have also seen increases.
In his speech at the round table “Food Security: national market development strategy” Artem Daushev, Assistant to the Head of Rosselkhoznadzor, noted the high quality of Russian products that are in demand at global markets. Rosselkhoznadzor is working on introducing Russian products to new markets. Hence, 22 kinds of products subject to veterinary oversight gained access to 38 new markets in 2022.
