He also noted that at the same time Russian imports of meat and meat products totaled 530 tons in the same period.
“According to our data as of December 16, we exported 630.000 tons of meat and meat products and imported 530.000 tons, which makes us net exporters,” Sergey Dankvert said.
He also noted that Russia used to import 3,5 million tons of meat and meat products, so it used to be a net importer.
“This breakthrough was made mainly due to the first wave of sanctions in 2014. For that we should express our deepest appreciation to our Western colleagues. The quality of our products is gradually improving – the launch of digital systems makes it easier to control,” said the head of the service.
