During the same period, imports of meat products declined by 3.8 times. In 2000, Russia brought in 2,253 thousand tons of meat, compared to 586 thousand tons imported in 2023.
Sergey Dankvert highlighted a notable surge in exports of pork, poultry, and beef.
For instance, pork exports increased from 4,000 tons in 2015 to 158,000 tons in 2023. At the same time, pork imports dropped to negligible amounts, marking a stark contrast with 2000, when Russia brought in 401,000 tons of pork compared to 1,000 tons in 2023.
A total of 687 Russian manufacturers are authorized to supply meat products to other countries.
