“The current design of the meat and meat products market allows us to forecast growth in beef volume by the end of 2022,” the ministry said in a statement.
It was also pointed out that the introduction of zero import tariffs contributed to price stabilization for this type of meat. “This measure helped to ensure availability of beef for Russian consumers and to control the price growth rate under the conditions of significant rise in production costs. At the same time, there has been no decrease in retail prices for cattle since the beginning of the year,” the ministry said.
They also added, that support measures undertaken by the government help maintain stability of prices on the market.
“Livestock breeders receive repayments for the costs of production, purchase of young animals, technological modernization of facilities, and the improvement of breeding activities. Preferential loans are in demand, as farmers can use funds in the purchase of feed, equipment, animal health products, the construction and modernization of livestock production facilities”, explained representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture.
