AO Sovhoz Baidaratsky and SEC Tazovsky are the first Russian productions to receive Certificates of Conformity for organic production of venison and processed venison products. Thus, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug has been marked on the “organic” map of the country,” the press service of the center said.

The VGNKI experts audited both documentation and production sites. During inspection visits, they examined reindeer herds roaming the tundra, accompanied by reindeer herding teams along approved herding routes.

Besides that, experts checked up on animal veterinary treatment practices and collected soil samples to run tests on pesticide residuals.

Following the certification, these businesses can mark their products as “organic products” and use a standard graphic image (label) established for organic products.
