According to the project’s explanatory note, the experiment is aimed at protecting the veterinary drug market from adulterated and counterfeit products.
It was Rosselkhoznadzor who launched this initiative. The Service said previously that current legislation doesn’t provide for veterinary drug traceability, so there is no such data in the Mercury information system.
All veterinary drugs are expected to be subject to labeling during the experiment, including vaccines, serums, and immunologicals, as well as animal blood intended for veterinary use.
The Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CDPT) will be responsible for labeling system operations. The experiment, if authorized, will be active until February 28, 2025.
