Russian agricultural exports increased by 21% in 2021

Russian agricultural exports increased by 21% to $37,1 billion in 2021 as compared to the previous year, which means hitting the record set in 2020, according to FGBI “Agroexport”, the Federal Center for the Development of Export of Agricultural Products under the Ministry of Agriculture.

“Over the past year Russia supplied foreign markets with more than 71 million tons of food products and agricultural raw materials” Agroexport said in a statement.

In particular, in 2021 exports of fish and seafood, meat products and dairy increased by 25%, 32% and 30% respectively.  

More than 160 countries started importing Russian agricultural products during the past year.

Turkey is considered to be the largest importer of Russian agricultural products. In 2021 it increased its imports by $38% to 4.3 billion, followed by China, which reduced its imports by 12% to $3.6 billion.

Top 5 countries that import Russian agricultural products also include Kazakhstan ($2,8 billion, +33%), Republic of Korea ($2.5 billion, +41%) and Belarus ($1,8 billion, +28%).
