The officials specified, that in the same period of the current year Russian manufacturers released 7,2 billion dozes of animal vaccines .
Import of Animal Health Products
According to the Rosselkhoznadzor’s VetIS system, Russian imports of animal antibiotics and veterinary vaccines rose by 16% and 25% respectively, compared to the same period last year.
The officials pointed out, that no specific restrictions were imposed on the import and commercial availability of foreign-made medicinal products in Russia. “Consequently, any shortages of foreign-made drugs on the Russian market are created artificially by overseas manufacturers,” said the representatives of the service.
The Rosselkhoznadzor noted that the situation regarding availability and accessibility of veterinary anesthesia drugs has stabilized. “Thus, more than 30 thousand packages of Telazol were imported into Russia in July, and almost 5 thousand packages of Zoletil were supplied in August,” said the service.
Domestic Production of Animal Health Products
A Russian-made potent analgesic “Tramvet®” was approved in Russia as an anesthetic that can be used during surgical procedures. 58 thousand packages have already been introduced to the market and are available for use.
Representatives of the service added, that only domestically produced immunobiologicals are used in animal vaccination against the most dangerous diseases (foot-and-mouth, anthrax, brucellosis, rabies, classical swine fever, leptospirosis). A wide range of Russian animal health products is also available for seasonal vaccination of cats and dogs, and external and internal parasite treatment of pets.
