“In the course of the discussion held with the representatives of “Opora Russia” on supply of veterinary medicines, Sergey Dankvert noted that animal health companies from India and China are being evaluated as potential suppliers of animal health products,” the service reports.
India and China are also seen as potential suppliers of raw materials necessary for the manufacture and production of veterinary medicines and feed additives.
At the same time, Sergey Dankvert noted, that domestic production of animal health products must be developed.
According to the National Veterinary Association, that represents the large domestic manufacturers of veterinary medicinal products, Russian animal health companies are willing to produce up to 100 per cent of veterinary pharmaceuticals and up to 40 per cent of immunobiological products for veterinary use, as part of the import substitution strategy. However, in order to increase production volumes, they request support from the government. In particular, “license holiday” is offered as a measure to speed up the construction of new production facilities. They also ask to subsidize the purchase of raw materials and set special conditions for the import of pharmaceutical substances.
The Association reported earlier, that due to the situation in Ukraine the global manufacturers had suspended supplies of animal health products to Russia, including pharmaceutical substances, equipment for their production and maintenance services.
