Poultry farmers want zoostatus system same as in pig production

Russian poultry farmers want a compartmentalization system that determines the zoosanitary status of production to be introduced. This was announced by Sergey Dankvert, the head of Rosselkhoznadzor during the media scrum at the final board of the service.

“We receive requests for compartmentalization in the poultry industry. They also want to have this kind of system,” Sergei Dankvert told reporters.

Pig farms currently use a compartmentalization system.

The production is classified in accordance with four compartments:  

  • compartment I – unprotected or unclassified facilities;
  • compartment II – low protection level facility;
  • compartment III – medium protection level facility;
  • compartment IV – high protection level facility;

In the case of any disease outbreaks in the region, manufacturers classified as compartment IV can sell their products without restrictions. “All that works in digital form today, which allows businesses to work efficiently and increase production,” Sergey Dankvert explained.
