Rosselkhoznadzor was authorized to block websites selling illegal veterinary drugs as of September 1, 2022. Starting from there and until January 12, the staff examined 763 online pharmacies and marketplaces selling animal health products. Illegal data was revealed at 461 of them.

The results were forwarded to Roskomnadzor, which had the websites blocked and the information on them included into the registry of prohibited sites. Based on information provided, 315 website owners were excluded from this list after they removed the prohibited data from their pages.

Reminder: Roskomnaszor blocks websites selling banned veterinary drugs based on the information received from Rosselkhoznadzor starting from September 1, 2022. The corresponding drugs were listed by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture in 2022.

The criteria for online stores and marketplaces selling animal health products to be included into the registry of prohibited sites were set up by Rosselkhoznadzor.

Among these are the following:

– the website doesn’t hold a license to operate a pharmacy;

– the website sells unlicensed, adulterated, or counterfeit animal drugs;

– the website is engaged in the free sale of prescription-only veterinary drugs;

– the website sells narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, or alcohol-containing drugs with a volume fraction of ethyl alcohol exceeding 25%.
