The document contains complex measures, aimed at dangerous animal disease prevention and control, the Cabinet of Ministers said in a statement posted on its website. These are primarily African swine fever (ASF), Highly-pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI), and Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD).
“The main goal is to improve responses to outbreaks of these diseases,” the government’s website says.
It is noted, that the roadmap includes both the existing biosafety measures and new actions. The latter include the introduction of regional mobile veterinary units, supplied with advanced equipment to eliminate sources of dangerous animal diseases. Regular regional diagnostic examinations of animals are also recommended.
“Regional authorities and Rosselkhoznadzor are advised to launch a hotline, receiving reports on animal disease cases from the population and organizations,” the statement says.
The document is to be published.
