Rosselkhoznadzor carries out skip testing of the authorized medicinal products for veterinary use. Domestic drugs are sampled at the manufacturing facilities, and foreign-made products are tested at the border.

Over the course of 7 months, the service checked 524 samples, with 48 of these being incompliant with quality or labeling requirements.

“Each of such cases is thoroughly investigated. The reason may be a failure of the quality control system at the production site or a violation of storage or transportation conditions. Drugs under the corresponding serial number are not released for circulation,” said the service.

The Rosselkhoznadzor reminded that starting September 1, 2023, immunobiologicals (vaccines) will be introduced into the commercial market only after special permission is granted by the service. To date, the Russian State Center for Animal Feed and Drug Standardization and Quality of Rosselkhoznadzor (FGBI “VGNKI”) has already received 155 applications for testing aimed at obtaining such permission for the medicinal product. The permission is issued within 5 days from the date of the protocol being forwarded to the Rosselkhoznadzor.

The Rosselkhoznadzor will be ready to provide the service via the national public e-service (Gosuslugi) by September 1. Besides that, the Galen system has been prepared to keep records of the permits issued.
